My name is Jill Tonks and I am a qualified and insured Cognitive Hypnotherapist and solution focussed coach and trainer based in Surrey. I have extensive experience of working with individuals and groups to achieve change in the public and the private sector.
I am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) – the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners – set up to protect the public by setting high standards. The CNHC is sponsored by the Department of Health, which recommends that people seeking complementary healthcare practitioners should select only those who are CNHC-registered (Department of Health, January 2011).
Until recently I sat on the National Council for Hypnotherapy executive committee as the Training and Accreditation Officer and I am an Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor. I specialise in building resilience and well being in the workplace for individuals, teams and groups of staff.
I am the primary professional resilience trainer for Macmillan staff in the Midlands.I am a facilitator in the UK Penn Resilience Programme training team offering a range of events to organisations and individuals on building resilience. The programme grew out of the work of Martin Seligman, the grandfather of Positive Psychology, http://www.ppc.sas.upenn.edu/ author of ‘Flourish’ and ‘Learned Optimism’ and Karen Reivich, ‘The Resilience Factor’ (www.howtothrive.org).
I worked as a probation officer and regional training manager in the National Probation Service and have over 25 years experience of working with individuals to resolve complex problems.
